The arrival of cheap shale gas in New England has created a vast gulf between the haves and the have-nots — the users that are on the pipeline network and the ones that aren’t.
But any challenge can lead to opportunity. In this case, there’s a business opportunity waiting for ambitious start-ups that can figure out how to economically truck the gas from the pipeline to industrial users who are off the grid, and persuade those customers to switch from oil to cheaper natural gas.
